Royce E. Weirich
MOUNT WOLF – Royce E. Weirich, 78 of Mount Wolf, PA passed away, Sunday, October 26, 2025, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York, PA. He was the husband of Jane E. (Cunningham) Weirich.
Royce was born February 27, 1947, in Mount Wolf and was the son of the late Chester E. "Ted" Weirich and Eula A. (Hoover) Weirich.
He graduated in 1965 from Northeastern Senior High School in Manchester, PA. He was employed by Caterpillar in York, PA for over 32 years before his retirement. Following his retirement, Royce worked as a crossing guard for over 18 years for Northeastern School District at the corner of Maple and Hartman Streets. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mount Wolf. Royce proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife Jane, Royce is survived by his daughter, Christine Straubel and her husband Rudi of York; his son, Charles Bowers and his wife Patricia of Mount Wolf; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his brothers, Larry Weirich and his wife Dona of Manchester, Robert Weirich of Mount Wolf, Nevin Weirich of Manchester, Glenn Weirich and his wife Carol of Manchester, and David Weirich and his wife Lois of York, and his sisters, Pat Kindig, Peg Senft and her husband Jim, and Karen Nicholas and her husband, Charles all of Manchester. Royce was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Brenda Weirich and his brother-in-law Clair Kindig.
A memorial service to celebrate Royce's life will begin at 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 06, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, 28 North Third Street, Mount Wolf, PA. His visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday at the church. His burial will be private. Officiating at his service will be Reverend Jason Northridge and Reverend Jason Weirich. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.

Im so sorry for your loss. He was a great man. My daughter Sophia looked forward to seeing him everyday, and her last yr walking down she had a crossing guard cup made for him. We will miss seeing him everyday.

I grew up knowing Royce all through my life. I remember spending many hours at his home aside the post office in my. Wolf. I was part of his personal cheering section at his basketball games. Going to miss Royce a wonderful guy and a great friend always. Craig Werner.
