Ruben Diaz, 78, of Land O' Lakes, Florida went to be with his heavenly father on June 15, 2023.
He was born in Carite, Puerto Ricto to Pablo Diaz and Placida Felix.
Ruben as a youung man moved to New Jersey to look for job opportuniteis. He worked at Fisher Greenhouse in Mays Landing for many years.
He married Herminia Diaz (Flower) and they started their life together. They opened a flower shop in Delanco and then move it to the Fairgrounds Plaza where Flower already had her Beauty Shop and the would work together. They found land across the street, built their stores and apartment above the stores where they would live and work together.
Ruben loved hosting family and friends for dinners and babecues. He loved going out to eat and driving around with his wife looking at new places.
He loved traveling, wrestling, and baseball.
Ruben and Flower sold their New Jersey beauty shop and flower shops. They moved to Florida for the sunshine and for Dad not to have to shovel anymore snow. He loved the house they built.
Ruben worked at Jennie's Flower Shop as a floral designer.
Ruben is survived by his wife Herminia, children Annette, Mark, Carmin, Sookie, his siblings Luz, Norma, Justina, Dora, Paco, Cruz and in-laws. Additionally, his grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ruben is predeceased by his parents Pablo Diaz and Placida, sisters Julia, Margarita and Victoria, Mother-in-law Anita Mayol, Father-in-law Rafael Mayol.
Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2023 at 7:00-8:30 pm. Loyless Funeral Home. 5310 Land O' Lakes Blvd. Land O' Lakes, FL 34639 (next to Post Office)
Ruben Diaz will then be flown to New Jersey for viewing at Perinchief Chapels. 438 High Street, My Holly NJ 08060 on Friday, June 23, 2023 viewing 7-8:30 pm and Saturday, June 24, 2023 burial. Details to follow.
