Our hearts are heavy with the sudden loss of Ruben Gonzalez, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Ruben was only 27 years old when he left us too soon. He was born in Santa Paula to Gabriela Gonzalez and Jose Patino and grew up in Fillmore, where he made many lifelong friends.
Ruben was a hardworking production tech in the oil fields, where he took great pride in his work and always gave his best. He was a dependable and reliable colleague who earned the respect and admiration of his coworkers. But above all, Ruben was a devoted family man who would do anything for his loved ones. He was always there to lend a hand, offer support, or share a laugh. Ruben's warm and caring personality touched the lives of everyone he met.
Ruben is survived by his wife Viviana, whom he loved deeply, and their precious daughter Emma Hope, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind his mother Gabriela Gonzalez, brother Joe Patino, sister Gaby Patino, all of his in laws, nephews, nieces and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Ruben was received by his father Jose Patino in Heaven, where they will surely watch over their loved ones.
A viewing will be held on April 19, 2023, from 4-6pm, followed by a rosary from 6-8pm at Perez Family Funeral Home, located at 600 Central Ave in Fillmore, CA.
Mass will take place the following day on April 20, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, located at 1048 Ventura St. in Fillmore, CA, where we will gather to celebrate Ruben's life and mourn his passing. A burial will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery and Reception details will be announced soon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ruben's life.
Ruben was a kind, gentle, and loving soul who touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved. Rest in peace, Ruben.
