Ruben Guerrero, 81
Ruben Guerrero died November 19, 2025. He was born November 8, 1944 in Refugio, Texas. A resident of Okeechobee for 45 years, he was the owner of Duffy's Tavern where he enjoyed drinking his beer. He coached OCRA for many years and loved watching his grandchildren play sports, especially the Chobee Dirtbags. He was a baseball fanatic and avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan.
Mr. Guerrero was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Anita Guerrero; brothers, Victor Guerrero and Richard Guerrero; sister, Blanche Balli; wife, Elva Ochoa; daughter, Evelyn Flores; and grandson, Exevian Vargas.
Mr. Guerrero is survived by his son, Ruben E. Guerrero (Tamara), of Okeechobee, Florida; daughters, Sylvia Terrazas (Luis), of Okeechobee, Florida, Sally Gamez (Israel), of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Sandra Gutierrez (Frank), of Gotha, Florida, Ruby Fallas (Oldemar), of Viera, Florida, and Erica Vargas (Francisco), of Okeechobee, Florida; former spouses, Olivia Guerrero, of Gotha, Florida, and Ledia Mendoza; eleven grandchildren, Ruben, Michael, and Anita Martinez, Amanda and Austin Gamez, Jathan Diaz, Roland (Brittany) and Miranda Gutierrez, Amaya Fallas, Ruben and Kayli Guerrero; eight great grandchildren, Mason and Madison Martinez, Cailee and Anina Ortiz, Serenity and Syrus James, Mila and Isabela Gutierrez; and brothers, Armando "Sonny" Guerrero, of Indiantown, Florida, Fred Guerrero, of Vero Beach, Florida, Robert Guerrero, of Indiantown, Florida, Arnold Guerrero and Greg Cabrera, both of Vero Beach, Florida.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025 at Buxton Okeechobee Funeral Home.
