RUBEN JARAMILLO Obituary
Ruben I. Jaramillo, a resident of Santa Fe, NM, passed away peacefully at 75 years old on March 16th, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 27, 1948, to his parents, Manuel and Alice Jaramillo, in Ojo Caliente.
He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Jaramillo; his mother, Alice Jaramillo; his brother, Anthony (AJ) Jaramillo; his sister, Evy Gallegos; and his son-in-law, David Casados Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife Jean Jaramillo, his daughter Amy Casados and her partner Ernie Corriz, his grandchildren David Casados Jr., his wife Antoinette, Brandon Casados, and Ryan Casados, his siblings Manuel (Marty) Jaramillo and his wife Frances, Mary Hernandez and her husband Dennis, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruben was a disabled Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy, and bravely fought for his country. He attended TVI in Albuquerque, NM, for drafting and accounting. He had a long career with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, retiring as a financial auditor.
Ruben was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family more than anything and always put them first. He would do anything for them.
He was a man of great wisdom, courage, and strength.
Ruben loved to spend time with family. He loved music and loved to dance. He had a great passion for going out shooting with his grandsons and sharing his life stories.
He is going to be dearly missed. His laugh, jokes, and stories are something that will always echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
Please join us in sending Ruben Jaramillo off to his final resting place. A public viewing will be held on April 3rd, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m. at Santa Fe Funerals & Cremations. Mass will be held on April 4th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Parish, followed by a burial at 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full Military Honors. A celebration of Ruben's life will be held at St. Anne Parish Hall following the burial.

I am very blessed to have known Ruben for many years. I first met him when we worked at Bonanza City together and Gene worked at Bonanza Fabric .They are two of the most wonderful people I have ever met. RIP Ruben. We worked together at the N.M. Game & Fish Later after he retired I met him again as he helped brother-in-law Dennis with his County Commission Campaign. Condolences to the family and especially Mary Hernandez a Agua Fria Village resident. RIP.

To Ruben's loving family, I extend my condolences to you all. I worked with Ruben at NMDGF. He was fun to be around and had interesting stories to tell about his life and career. He and my Dad were good friends. He will definitely be missed. A Santa Fe treasure for sure.
