Ruben Morales

Ruben Morales, 79, of Interlachen, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at his home.
Ruben was born in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, and had lived in Interlachen 34 years coming from Philadelphia, PA. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Throughout his life he had worked various jobs and was a hard worker. He had most recently worked as a fiberglass fabricator and retired from CDR Corporation in Palatka after 17 years of service. He loved sitting in the yard and drinking cold beer. He also loved his animals and enjoyed eating fish, Spanish food (rice, beans, and chicken), tinkering with cars, and collecting cans. Above all he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aguedo Villegas and Juanita Morales; his wife, Teresa Morales; two sons, Alexis Morales and Ruben Morales Jr.; a daughter, Wanda Morales; two sisters, Rosa Alicea and Gladys Cintron; and a grandson, Jose R. Ortiz Jr.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Morales (Ulysses) of Philadelphia, PA, and Judy Morales of Interlachen; a brother, Enrique Alicea of Philadelphia, PA; 25 grandchildren, including Teresa, Jose, Joseph, Natasha, Jessica, Ulysses, Donald, Esteban, Carlos, Josh, Joseph (Chep), Alex Jr., A.J., Augustino, Joey, Eric, and Leann; 60 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Analeigh Hatcher.
Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Sunday, September 10, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Carlos Reyes officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in Pineview Cemetery in Interlachen.
