Ruben Reyes Jr., 51, of Ft. Worth, formerly of Uvalde passed away on December 27, 2025, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
He was born on August 18, 1974, in Uvalde, to Rosemary (Arredondo) Reyes and Ruben Reyes, Sr.
Ruben enjoyed music and family gatherings and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He attended Uvalde CISD and graduated with the Class of 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Gutierrez of Ft. Worth; parents, Rosemary Reyes and Ruben Reyes Sr. and wife, Gloria all of Uvalde; son, Ruben Reyes III, Matthew Gutierrez and wife, Dariela, Andrew Araujo and wife, Danniella all of Ft. Worth; daughters, Geneva Marie Borrego, Armandina Rubio both of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Arnulfo Reyes of Uvalde and Juan Reyes, of Crowley; step brother, Rudy Aguero of San Antonio; four sisters, Maribel Esparza and husband, Fortunato of Winters, Chriselda Gutierrez and husband, Mario, Brandi Reyes and wife, Lizette and Rebekkah Hill and husband, Jack all of Uvalde; grandchildren, Andriella Araujo, Azreal Araujo and Lyla Gutierrez; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mario A. Gutierrez Jr., Nolberto Moncada III, Eric Gutierrez, Robert Moss, Jose Mendoza and Edwardo Vasquez.
