Ruben Rusch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 1, 2011.
Ruben R. Rusch, age 85 of Charlestown, died on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at his home. He was born December 23, 1923 in Charlestown, son of the late Otto & Emma (Piepenburg) Rusch. He married Eva J. Mohr on November 8, 1947 in Sheboygan. Ruben devoted his entire life to farming on the family homestead in Charlestown. He was a member of Ebenezer UCC in Chilton. Ruben always enjoyed the outdoors and the activities nature afforded him. He was a great outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He belonged to many card clubs throughout the area, and whether it was pennies, nickels, or dimes, he never said 'no' to a good game of Sheepshead. He truly enjoyed life and all that came with it. He always had a smile on his face, and a chuckle to share with everyone around him. His grandchildren affectionately named him "Grandpa Laughs-a-Lot". Survivors include his wife: Eva; children: Amy (Orvis) Genske of Brillion, James Ruben Rusch of Chilton, Steven (Peggy) Rusch of Chilton; Phillip (Stacy) Rusch of Brookfield; 7 grandchildren: Dawn (Mark) Bailey, David (Tonya) Genske, Denise (Scott) Williams, Darla (Todd) Stebane, Corey Rusch, Michelle Rusch, Kristina (Mike) Byrge; and 11 great-grandchildren with a 12th to arrive in April. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ruben was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother: Arnold Rusch. Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Ebenezer UCC (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Kathy Gloff officiating. Burial will be in the EUB cemetery in Rantoul. Friends may call at the church from 1:00 PM until 3:45 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2009. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Ruben R. Rusch.
