Ruby Lee Allen, age 90, of Lebanon, formerly of Springfield and Greenbrier, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Quality Center for Rehab and Healing. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Monday, September 9th, 2024 at the Calvary Baptist Church, with Bro. Gary Dillard officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery with Michael Chance, Mark Chance, T. J. Chance, Scott Dillard, Hunter Love, and Daniel Hicks serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Wayne Dillard.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Sunday at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier, and again from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Monday at the church.
Mrs. Allen was born January 24, 1934, in Springfield, to the late Carter Wesley Chance and Catherine Adams Chance. She was a cafeteria worker with Metro Public Schools for many years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was a devoted Christian lady who loved her church, and volunteered at the church doing numerous projects and activities. She enjoyed working, loved to travel, but loved her granddaughter and great grandchildren more than anything.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Wesley Chance and Robert Bell Chance.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Love; granddaughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Hicks; and 3 great grandchildren, Hunter Love, Hinsley Love, and Hadleigh Love.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier is in charge of these arrangements.
