Ruby Allen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 2, 2012.
Ruby Jean Allen Ruby Jean was born on October 4, 1949, the first child born to Lila Wilson Birdow and adopted daughter of Andrew Lee Birdow, Sr. She grew up in Palestine, Texas and attended Palestine Public schools. Ruby moved to Dallas after graduating from High School and met the love of her life Olish Allen, Jr. Olish and Ruby were married and made their home in Dallas; to their union two sons were born Marcus and Olish III. Ruby, fondly called Jean by family and close friends had a deep abiding love for family and those close to her. She often began projects for the benefit and support of others. Her love for helping others and making sure the elderly had a good meal and spending time with them is where she found happiness. This love grew exponentially within her inner circle and could often be felt in the concern she showed for them rather than for herself. On Sunday, December 2, 2012, Ruby answered God*s call. She will be remembered by: her loving husband of forty years, Olish Allen, Jr., Dallas, TX; sons, Marcus (Christe) Allen, Cedar Hill, TX and Olish Allen III, Grand Prarie, TX; stepdaughter, Anita (Rodney) Phipps, Humble, TX; three grandchildren, Ethan Allen, Dallas, TX, LaKimverly Frye and Andre Frye, Humble, TX; one great grandson, Aiden, Humble, TX; three brothers, Charles (Barbara) Birdow, Duncanville, TX, Andrew Birdow, Jr., and Jerry Birdow, Palestine, TX; one sister, Brenda (Brian) Cadenhead, Denton, TX.; an aunt, Lillian (Edward) Phillips, Dallas, TX.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
