Ruby Bacote Obituary
Ruby Jean Bacote, lovingly known as "Sweetheart," was born May 15, 1939 in Florence, SC, to the late Bethea Bacote and Annie Martin Etheridge-Bacote. God called her home on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Ruby attended the public schools of Florence County. She was formerly employed with Wentworth Manufacturing Company for over 20 years and Turner Manufacturing Company as a seamstress.
She was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church of Florence, SC since childhood. She sung on the Senior Choir, First Sunday Sanctuary Choir, as well as the Gospel Choir. She also served on the Women's Missionary Society and the Richard Allen Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Beatrice Poole, Constance B. Johnson, and Cara M. Bacote.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories a daughter, Linda L. (Ronald) McKithen of Dallas, GA; a son, Christopher L. Bacote of Florence, SC; three grandchildren, Ronald L. McKithen of Florence, SC, Shewand McKithen of Lithonia, GA, ShaRonda L. (Tmichael) White; five great grandchildren, Justice Parkison, Atlanta McKithen, Ayonna McKithen, Azi McKithen, and Dash A. White; and a host of other family members and friends.
Family will receive friends at 1213 N. Irby Street, Florence beginning Monday, December 15, 2025 from 4 PM - 8 PM.
