Ruby Fraser Bailey

Ruby Fraser Bailey, age 99, of Charlotte and formerly of Cliffside, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Novant Health-Presbyterian Hospital Hospice. Born January 27, 1917 in Hall County, Georgia, she was a daughter to the late Mel Charles Fraser and Pearl Waters Fraser. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Cliffside Baptist Church. Ruby liked keeping up on current events and especially loved visiting with neighbors and family while sitting on the porch. She enjoyed good and interesting conversation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Byron Reid Bailey; one daughter, Daisy Scruggs Haas; two sons, infant Vernon Bailey and Rex Charles Bailey; sister, Doris Fraser Putnam and three brothers, Mac Hoyt Fraser, Clyde Fraser and Mel Dean Fraser. Survivors include two sons, Alfred Reno Bailey and wife, Betty Shellem Bailey of Charlotte and Benjamin Wyan Bailey and wife, Cynthia Mickle Bailey of Dublin, Ohio; six grandchildren, Brendan Bailey, Kevin Bailey, James Bailey, Grayson Bailey, Joel Haas and Colette Haas Bromfield; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron Bailey, Ashlyn Bailey, Maxwell Bailey, Nathan Haas, Bridger Haas, Elizabeth Haas and Jordan Bromfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Cliffside Baptist Church with Reverend Allen Hall officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes before service time at the church. Interment will follow in Cliffside Cemetery.
