Ruby Barrett Obituary
With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Ruby Louise Barrett of McDonald, TN, February 28, 2026. She was 85 years old.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Barrett, and parents Warren and Maude Turner, as well as brothers Darrel, Theron, Edward and Thomas Turner, and sisters Vivian Hall and Dianne Brown.
Her surviving sisters are Imogene Mooneyham and Becky Burchfiel and surviving sisters-in-law are Patsy Turner and Linda Turner.
She is also survived by daughters Neasy Fitzgerald (Scottie, deceased), Tammy Barrett, Tena Trotter, Jetty Eller, Mike Eller and Terri Scoggins.
Her grandchildren are Lauren Shelton (George), Holly Jordan, Cori Young (Jason), Brett Jordan (Doron), Heather Graves, Scarlett Burger (Jacob), Hagan Scoggins (Candyce), and Lydia Brock (Josh). She has 19 great grandchildren.
Ruby was an avid sports fan and dedicated the majority of her life to basketball and softball as both a player and a coach. She passed on her ability and knowledge to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the best most loving Mama and Nanny and will so miss by us all.
The family will welcome guests at Companion Funeral Home, Ridge Chapel, Thursday, March 5, 2026, 5:00-7:00. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor George Shelton, will be Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:30, also at the Ridge Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
