Ruby Johnson Beam, 85, passed from this life surrounded by her family at her home in Smithville on Saturday, June 14, 2025. She was born September 18, 1939 to the late Henry Grady Johnson and the late Lillian Gertrude Griggs Johnson. She worked at Charm Step in Fulton for many years along with other jobs. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed being the caretaker for all her family. Ruby enjoyed making quilts and she also made many cakes for a lot of people and was very good at it. Early to rise and she always put in a full day of hard work. A quiet person but very caring and never wanted the attention or glory for her deeds. Ruby always kept her kids in line but not so much for the grandkids. She treated everyone she was around the same gentle, caring way.
A funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday June 17, 2025, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Minor officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 for public all in the Senter Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons: Mickey (LeAnn) Beam of Mooreville and Tim (Debbie) Beam of Smithville; grandchildren: Glen (Karlee) Beam, Alisha (Jason) Street, Michelle Beam, Justin (Beth) Wheeler, Andrew Diaz; great grandchildren: Melanie, Lauren, and James Street, Marleigh Beam, Katherine Wheeler; brother, Ricky (Jane) Johnson; sisters: Ruth Mitchell and Cathy (Paul) Ashley; daughter-in-law, Teresa Beam; son-in-law, Robert Diaz
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie Beam; daughter, Sheila Beam Diaz; son, Ronald Beam; brothers: Bobby Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Jackie Johnson; infant brothers: Jerry and Billy Johnson; sisters: Katie Denson and Wanda Johnson
