Gene Llewellyn Obituary
Born in Lavelle, March 10, 1939, he was a son of the late Leroy and Mada Hornberger Llewellyn. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1956. He was owner operator of Llewellyn's Service Center, Lavelle. He then worked as a truck driver until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Holly Manhart Llewellyn, Jan. 31, 2012.
He is survived by five children, Jo-Anne Klauger, Allentown, Annette, wife of David VanSickle, Denver, Colo., Elaine Llewellyn and her companion, Brian Mickatavage, Ashland, Todd Llewellyn, husband of Kelly Miller, Hegins, and Matthew Mensch, Lavelle; five grandchildren, Megan Llewellyn, Jared Llewellyn, Dustin Koppenhaver, Noah VanSickle and Julia VanSickle; two brothers, Robert, husband of Gloria Llewellyn, High Point, N.C., and Thomas, husband of Dorothy Llewellyn, Hazle Township; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Christ Evangelical Congregational Church, Lavelle, with the Rev. Michael Eck officiating. Interment at Citizens Cemetery Lavelle. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Willard A. Rothermel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with Charles Heizenroth III, FD. So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I have fond memories of lots of good times with my cousins Gene, Bob and Tom when visiting grandmom Hornberger in Mowry every summer when we were kids. I also was a bridesmaid in Gene and Dot's wedding.
