Ruby Rosalyn Cain, a beloved member of the Moultrie community, passed away on September 29, 2024 at the age of 87. Born on March 6, 1937, in Moultrie GA, Rosalyn dedicated her life to her family and her career as a long-time secretary for the Colquitt County School System, where she was widely respected.
Rosalyn's passion for music was evident in her role as a pianist for Oak Grove Baptist Church. Her talent and love for music brought joy to many in her congregation. An avid reader, Rosalyn found solace in the pages of her favorite books, and her culinary skills delighted family and friends alike; she was known for being a great cook who infused warmth and love into every meal.
Traveling was another of Rosalyn's joys, especially adventures that centered around watching her grandchildren play sports. A devoted grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with them, often spoiling them and showering them with affection, most notably through her signature tight hugs.
She is survived by her loving children: Randall Moore of Moultrie, GA, Leslie Moore and wife Debbie of Moultrie, GA, and Michael Moore and wife Jennifer of Portland, OR. Rosalyn's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Nicole West and wife Sarah, Meghan Coleman and husband Todd, Riley Moore and wife Namita, Everett Moore, Hunter Moore, and Emilie Moore. Her great-grandchildren, Bo Coleman, Bailey Coleman, Hardy West, and Sutton West, were a source of immense pride and joy for her.
Rosalyn is also survived by her siblings: Glenda Dupree, Larry DeMott and wife Carole, and Roddy DeMott and wife Janice, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Curtis DeMott, her mother, Ruby Mae (Strickland) DeMott, her first husband, Boyd Moore, her second husband, William T. Cain, and siblings Curtis DeMott, Ervin DeMott, Bunnie Simpson, Lamar DeMott, and Al DeMott, who have surely welcomed her with open arms.
