Ruby Gay Carr

Ruby Gay Carr, age 91 of Gulfport, joined our Father in Heaven peacefully at home on Sunday morning, September 11, 2022.
Ruby was born in Burns, Smith County, Mississippi on January 30, 1931. Ruby married her husband, Marlin "Red" Carr in 1947 and soon after moved to the coast to raise a family. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, cooking, and entertaining. She was a caretaker to all and the brightest light in the family. She was very generous with her wisdom and love.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Alice Burns, her siblings Nelson Burns, Robert Burns, Jay Burns, Chess Burns, Lilly Page and Dorothy Page. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Red Carr and their son, James Marlin Carr (Deborah).
Ruby will be sadly missed by her children: Alice Carr Everman and her husband Tyrone; her sons Charles David Carr, and Nelson Wayne Carr with his wife Vicky Carr. Ruby loved her grandchildren with all her heart and they will miss her greatly; Charlie Carr, Tyrone Scott Everman, Tracy Everman Sellers, Tonya Carr Hurst, Shilo Carr Clark, Tasha Carr Taylor, David Nelson Carr, Katherine Elizabeth Carr, and Rebecca Allison Carr; great grandchildren Gabrielle Harrison, Meagan Everman, Ainsley Everman, Savannah Everman, Brianna Sellers, Drew Hurst, Chloe Clark, Allie Hurst, Molly Clark, David Taylor, Austin Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Rosemary Carr Saucier, Cade Harrison and Daisy Rae Hurst.
Services will be held at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Homes on O'Neal Road at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 15th, 2022. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery on Hwy 53 in Gulfport.
