Ruby Edna Gooch Christmon was born May 4, 1936, in Nolensville, Tennessee to the late Robert L. and Fairy Covington Gooch. Ruby transitioned from this life on Friday, November 5, 2021.

Along with her family, Ruby relocated to Nashville during her early childhood. Ruby received her education from the Holy Family Catholic School. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Pilgrim Emanuel Baptist Church. Ruby later became a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the choir at both churches. In her later years, Ruby became a member of True Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles E. Chambers. Ruby joined in Holy Matrimony to the late David Lee Christmon on June 23, 1956. This union brought two children.
Ruby was precise about her home and the way she dressed. She loved football, watching Westerns and having a good time with her sisters.
Ruby was proceeded in death by her sisters: Hazel Gooch and Barbara Gooch and her great-grandson: Kenneth Hatcher. Ruby leaves to cherish her memories one loving and faithful son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Doris Gooch, one loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law: Lolita and Reverend William K. Fite; one sister: Lucy McCord; three brothers: Johnny (Charlotte) Gooch of Los Angeles, California, George Gooch (Virginia), and Kevin Gooch (Georgia); two grandsons: Gary Rowe, Michael McKissack; five granddaughters: Wyzette Bass, Natasha Fite, Katrice Cloyd, Makisha Shaw, and Lanise Fite; four step grandchildren: Darryl Alderson, Latoya Jordan, Kendra Jordan, and Kevin Jordan; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation Thursday, November 11, 2021, 1-2:00pm with funeral to follow at funereal home. Burial in Greenwood North
