Ruby S. Cline

Mrs. Ruby S. Cline, 85, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, following a period of declining health. Ruby was born December 18, 1933, in Burke County to the late Jack Smith and Florence Causby. She was a member of Winkler's Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Williard E. Cline; and son, James "Bud" Winkler Jr. Survivors include daughter Peggy Walker; son, Larry Winkler and wife Yvonne; step-son, Dan Cline, and a step-daughter, Patricia Miller Cline. Also surviving are grandchildren, Trey Walker and wife Brittnay, and Niki Walker; four step-grandchildren, Jason Cline, Jonathan Cline, Curt Miller, and Monica Cline; and sisters Mame S. Turnbill and Fannie Roberts. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Faulkenbury, and Rev. Paul Deal officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church.
