Ruby Owen Conn

Mrs. Ruby Conn (nee Owen), 88, of Smyrna passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. She was born in Villa Rica, Georgia, to Clarence Henry and Mamie Gertrude Fortner Owen. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 23, at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30am-12:30pm at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna.
Mrs. Conn is preceded in death by her husband, Max Conn, sisters Mildred Thomas (Leonard), Louise Gordon, and Dorothy McAdams, and brother Raymond Owen (Jeanette). She is survived by her daughter Christy Rahn (Robbie) of Woodstock, grandson Justin Rahn, brother-in-law Horace Goose McAdams, brother and sister in laws Sid and Elaine Conn and Thomas and Billie Sue Conn, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruby was a graduate of Avondale Highschool and went on to have post-high school education in administrative work. She was a member of Avondale Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Once she married, she became a member of First Baptist Chattahoochee where she taught Sunday School to pre-school children. She was a devout follower of Jesus and dedicated her life reading God's Word and showing His love to others. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Ruby loved to garden, read, teach, and cook. She was an excellent baker and was known for her apple pie, biscuits, and peach ice cream. Ruby will be deeply missed by all who loved her and were touched by her love.
