Ruby Julene Coolong

Ruby Julene, lovingly known as Julie, passed away in the presence of her family on June 30th, 2025, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. She was just 61 years old.
Julie was born on July 19th, 1963, in San Bernardino, California. She was the daughter of Ruby Rachel Michelson, and sister to Steven Michelson, the late Tina McDermitt, Cece Thompson, and Lucas Michelson.
She was a devoted mother to Crystin Short, Rachel Tonning, and Jessica Crabb, and a proud grandmother to Caylin, Ava, Howard, Brody, Carter, Norah, Lucy, Desmond, and Wesley. Julie also held deep love for many other relatives, neighbors, and friends who were like family to her.
A dedicated homemaker, passionate cook, and lively host, Julie's happiest moments were spent surrounded by her family. Her home was often full of laughter, music, and the smells of her delicious cooking. Many cherished memories were made around her pool, in the sunshine, where she gathered loved ones with warmth and joy.
Julie's vibrant spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family will live on in every meal shared, every song sung, and every moment of joy we choose to embrace in her memory.
