Ruby Jean Corrigan, 90, passed away March 31 at Maury Regional Medical Center from heart problems aggravated by an illness. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Howard Hoyle (2006) and John Corrigan (2024). She is survived by her children, Pamela Gallagher and Timothy Hoyle, and their spouses, Brian Gallagher and Jane Heaven-Hoyle. Her four grandchildren include Jennifer Pate and her husband Scott, Jesse and Molly Heaven-Hoyle and Molly’s husband Justin Wood, and Jeremy Gallagher and his wife Anna. The five great grandchildren include Jeremy and Anna’s children Sydney, Greyson and Elena; plus Jennifer’s children Stella and Liam Walker; as well as her stepchildren Ella and Micah Pate.
Born in Alabama, on Oct. 8, 1935, Ruby graduated from Cullman High School in May 1953. Many of her nieces, nephews and cousins still live in the state. She had a variety of careers after graduation that included retail sales, product marketing and ran her own successful custodial services firm supporting medical practices, post offices and other facilities.
A woman of faith, Ruby is remembered for her kindness, generosity and friendliness. She always enjoyed laughing with others and cooking and will be remembered by dozens of friends and their families whose hearts and bellies she filled. Many consider her part of their respective families. Over the years she also enjoyed reading, travel, bingo and Dancing With The Stars.
