Ruby Lee Davis

Mrs. Ruby Lee Davis, a native and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, was born on January 31, 1949, to the union of Shedrick Williams Sr. and Eula Mae Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister. 

Ruby confessed Christ as a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church. She was educated in the Mobile County Public School System. A graduate of Cedar Grove Academy.

She was employed for over 20yrs. as a contractor industrial laborer at Barry Steam Plant ( Alabama Power) She was a member of Laborer's Local # 70 ( Mobile) and Laborer's Local # 559 ( Birmingham).  Ruby had a great appreciation for music, especially jazz and she loved to dance, fish, and cook. 

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory her loving devoted daughter Donna Bracy Smith. One devoted sister: Mary Lou (Jake) Scott of Mobile, Alabama. Two devoted brothers-in-law: Michael (Cheryl) Davis, and Jake(Mary Lou) Scott both of Mobile, Alabama. Four sisters-in-law: Myrtle Bracy of Chicago, Illinois, Francine Williams, Gwendolyn Clausell both of Mobile, Alabama, Rachel Turner of East Palo Alto, California. Three devoted nieces: Jorina ( Benjamin) Adams of Mobile, Alabama, and Debra ( Michael Sr.) Carr of Discovery Bay, California, and Cassandra Bracy of Chicago, Illinois. Two devoted nephews: Steve Knight, Darryl (Lisa) Bracy both of Mobile, Alabama. Five devoted friends: Deborah Emmanuel, Hazel Scott-Gardner, Elmo Vassel, Buel Scott all of Mobile, Alabama, and Robert Hudson Jr. of East St. Louis, Illinois, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends/neighbors.

The first visitation will be held on Friday, April 12th from 3 - 6 p.m. The second visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour. All services will be held at B.E. Brown & Co. Mortuary, 5817 Grelot Rd., Mobile, AL.
