Ruby Bright Delzer, 96, of Big Sky, MT, formerly of Burnsville, MN, died peacefully on February 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by husband Ralph Delzer; parents Harry and Vivian Bright; brothers Harry, Ralph, and Charles; sisters Fern and Barb, also daughter in law, Paula. Ruby is survived by sons, Steven (Donita), Daniel (Suzanne), James (Gertie), Peter (Kelli) and John (Toni); daughter Mary (Gary Jirele) Delzer; grandchildren Rebecca (Andrew) Peterson, Benjamin (Lisa) Delzer, Sarah (Jeff) Glockner, Sam (Abby) Brummund-Delzer, Tod Kreider, Charles Kreider, Anastacia (Daniel) Hall and great grandchildren Finn, Chloe, Jett, Mackenzie, Lydia, Hawk, Lucy, Curtis, Luke, Jacob, Alisdair, Kellen, Noah, Braeden and Levi.
Ruby was born in Minneapolis to Harry and Vivian Bright on June 30, 1927. She grew up in Edina, MN, and graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1945. Ruby and Ralph Delzer met at work and were married on August 4, 1948. Ruby worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, teacher, and homemaker. One of Ruby’s greatest accomplishments was going to Concordia College in St. Paul, MN and earning a degree in Teacher Education, while still raising a family.
Ruby was an active participant in her church, Ascension Lutheran in Burnsville, MN and All Saints in Big Sky, MT. Ruby and Ralph were instrumental in the construction of the chapel in Big Sky. Ruby enjoyed singing in the church choir and loved teaching children in Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed playing bridge with friends.
Many people were touched by Ruby’s love and faith, and she will be remembered with deep love by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 29th, at All Saints Church in Big Sky, MT. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are preferred to All Saints Church, 510 Little Coyote Rd, Big Sky, MT.
