Ruby Jane Fulmer Diaz joined her Gracious Lord in Heaven April 9, 2026, after being surrounded in love by her family. Ruby was born April 8, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas to Joe Fulmer and Ruby Irene Dobbs Fulmer. She attended elementary school in Poolville, Texas prior to graduating from high school in Springtown, Texas in 1962.
Ruby grew up playing the piano and served as pianist for the Baptist Church in Springtown. She also taught piano lessons to neighborhood children, which led to her life-long passion for education. She graduated with her Associate’s degree from Weatherford College then eventually earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas Women’s University. Ruby taught for several years at Mineral Wells High School then served as Educational Diagnostician for Wise County Educational Co-op, Weatherford ISD, and Mansfield ISD.
Ruby had the good fortune to marry the love of her life, Antonio Diaz, Sr., in 1991, and they have lived in North Richland Hills since. In addition to education, Ruby maintained her passions for playing the piano, crocheting, and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress, who made all of her daughters’ clothes when they were young and a few special items for grandchildren later in life. However, Ruby’s most recent passion centered around attending as many of her grandchildren’s activities as possible as she was an extremely proud and devoted grandmother.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ruby Irene Fulmer; her dear brother with whom she was very close, Bill Fulmer; her younger sister, Sherry Seaman; and step-sons, Danny and Ricky Diaz.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Tony Diaz, Sr.; her daughter, Janie and husband Larry Rooks; her daughter, Melissa and husband Terry Collette; her step-son Tony, Jr., and wife Melissa Diaz; her grandchildren, Gabriella and husband Carter Long; Isabella Diaz; Daniel Diaz; and Larryn Rooks; sister-in-law, Diane Fulmer; nephew, Troy Fulmer; nieces, Tracy and husband Clint Madewell; and Brandy Seaman as well as several great nieces and nephews and a precious extended Diaz Family.
The family wishes to share their gratitude with the Medical City North Hills 3rd floor nursing staff and doctor team for the excellent care they provided Ruby over the past few months.
