Ruby Lee Drazy

Ruby Lee Drazy, 64 yrs old, of Marion, Texas went home to be with our Lord on April 18th, 2023, after a 3 1/2-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family at her time of passing at Audie Murphy VA hospital.
Ruby was born May 29, 1958, in Heidelberg, Germany. She is the daughter of John & Bonnie Place. In 1977, Ruby served in the US Navy, where she met the love of her life, Leo Drazy, who would become her husband in 1978. Ruby served in the US Navy for 4 yrs. After serving in the US Navy she went to cosmetology school, where she got her license and spent 30+ years as a cosmetologist. Ruby loved baking, especially at Christmas, she loved sewing and fishing, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids. Ruby was a huge advocate for Lonestar Paws for A Cause, a nonprofit that was a huge part of her life. Sundays were always for her gospel music which she loved to listen to.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Bonnie Place; younger brother, Joseph Place; son, Christopher Drazy; and many others.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Drazy; two daughters, Jennifer Chafin and husband Mike Chafin, Melisa Drazy; two granddaughters, Michelle Cannon, and Rebecca Chafin; three grandsons, Cody Upton, Christopher Lamping, and Garth Franken; five great granddaughters, Lily Chafin, Soairse Chafin, Atarah, Julianna, and Evelyn Franken; one sister, Jan Davis; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law-Cathy Mulyck. Ruby also leaves behind three beloved dogs.
A Memorial Visitation will begin at 10 AM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Schertz Funeral Home in Schertz, Texas.
