Ruby Cook Forges, a retired educator, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the age of 90. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Ruby was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School and Southern University Baton Rouge. She retired from the Jefferson Parish Public School System after many years of dedicated service educating young minds. Ruby was also the owner and director of Cinderella Day Care Center. Beloved wife of the late Leon P. Forges. Devoted mother of Carla Johnson. Loving grandmother of Hammond H. Johnson III and Carlina J. (Bennie) Davis. Cherished great grandmother of Brian H. Harris, Jr., Courney Hill, Haven Dunn, Benae Davis, and the late Cordell I. Johnson. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Juanita L. Cook. Sister of Joyce C. (Willie) Powell and the late Lawrence (Geneva) Cook and Avron Cook. Ruby is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration honoring the life and legacy of the late Ruby Cook Forges at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5th Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor T.
