Ruby Jean Hurst Hagenmeier, 84, of Lakewood, Pennsylvania passed away on December 28th, 2025.
Ruby was born on April 6, 1941, in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late James W. Hurst and Elsie (Brown) Hurst.
Ruby worked for and retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital after over 40 years. When asked about retirement from her job as a registration clerk when she was interviewed before an awards dinner which included recognizing employees for 40 years of service; "Why would I?" I like my job." Ruby was an avid reader, dabbling with writing and wanting to create stories for children. She also loved to play tennis, scrabble and cards. She enjoyed music, played the guitar, and loved to dance and sing. Ruby was a lifelong learner. She loved learning about everything and enjoyed a good debate. Her interests included a wide variety of topics, both ordinary and extraordinary. She also enjoyed visiting neighbors; especially Marilyn, her close friend who shared many of her interests. They shared many hours of games and a wide range of conversations sprinkled generously with humor and laughter.
Ruby is survived by her sons Jeffrey Hagenmeier of Lakewood, Pennsylvania and Christopher Hagenmeier of Oakland, California and daughters Mona Figueroa and her husband Alberto of Baltimore, Maryland and Jennifer Dibble and her husband Daniel Dibble of Girard, Pennsylvania, her granddaughters Natalie Figueroa of Baltimore, Maryland and Stephany Dibble of Tooele, Utah and grandsons Ryan Figueroa of Philadelphia and Daniel Dibble of Girard, Pennsylvania and siblings Lois Light of Nashville, Tennessee and Pearl Nunn of Apple Valley, California and many nieces and nephews.
