Ruby C. Hamilton, age 93, born May 17, 1932, in Pea Ridge departed from this world on September 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was the daughter of Dale and Nelia Calhoun. Ruby was a God-fearing Christian woman with a servant's heart. Ruby was well known in the Forest Community as the owner of R&R Regal Drive-Thru Barn. She gave many years to that store and loved every minute of it. She enjoyed talking with customers, vendors, and employees. After retirement, Ruby could often be found in her flower beds, garden, or kitchen baking Old Fashioned Teacakes, Homemade Bread, or Homemade Candy. Ruby loved her family and friends and always looked forward to the holidays when everyone would gather together. Ruby left an impact on everyone who had the privilege of meeting or speaking with her. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, James Martin Hamilton Sr., parents Dale Calhoun, Nelia Young, and Stepfather, Spurgeon Young, sisters Irene Townsend and Latain Blossom, and her brother Walton "Dub" Young. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Scales of Morton and Linda (Rocky) Campbell of Newton, one son, Mart (Becky) Hamilton of Morton. Two sisters, Sherrie (Fred) Johnson of Morton and Lucy Young of Vicksburg, and a special sister, Shelley Plett of Vicksburg. Ruby also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Forest Presbyterian Church.
Ruby's visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM at Forest Presbyterian Church in Forest, MS. Her services will follow at 3:00 PM. Her burial will take place at Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS.
