Ruby Gene Haney, a beloved resident of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on Wednesday, June 21st, 1944, Ruby lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Ruby was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose family was the center of her world. She is survived by her loving children: Darlene Cook - George, Gene Haney and his wife Judy, and Samantha Ledford and her husband Mac. She leaves behind a legacy of 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Her sister, Sara Blalock, also survives her, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Effie Long, her beloved husband, William A. Haney, and her daughters, Janet Glover and Sharon Beam. She also joins in eternal rest her grandsons, Brandon Hale and Jody Huggins, and siblings Grady Long, Virginia Long, and Ernestine Bassett.
Ruby was a cherished member of her community, known for her warm heart and vibrant spirit. She never met a stranger and was always ready for a chat. Her love for gardening was evident in the beautiful blooms that adorned her home, and she found great joy in listening to country music. Above all, Ruby adored her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
For many years, Ruby was a dedicated employee at Country Cupboard, where she formed lasting friendships and touched the lives of many. Her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
A celebration of Ruby's life will be held with Tyler Haney, Bill Jones, William Brown, Wesley Brown, River Ledford, and Lee Blalock serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Randy Hardings and Dillon Blalock.
Ruby's memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before her.
Mrs. Ruby Haney's visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and services will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Cartersville, Ga
