Services for Ruby Anna Ranee (Nay Nay) Hightower, 51 of Oklahoma City will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Supt. Gilbert Oliver will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Repass will be at 1 pm at Chickasaw Community Center.
Ms. Hightower died Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 25, 1972 to Curtis Hightower and June Franklin Hightower. Ruby accepted Christ at age 13 and was a member of St James COGIC under Elder James V Moore until she moved to Oklahoma City in 1999.
Ruby graduated from Ada High School in 1991. She received a Masters Degree in Business Administration. She was employed at Oasis Counseling Center as the Quality Assurance Manager.
Survivors include two sons, Demarcus Vorise and Tre' Hightower; her mother, June Walker and Poppa Phillip Walker; a brother, Marquis Walker; four sisters, Shelly Hightower, Erica Hightower Lewis, Candy Hightower and Starla Hightower; one granddaughter, Jamila Destany-Nicole Chrystal; nieces, Kiera Blue-Hightower, Teaghan Lewis, Tahlia Lewis, and Paisley Corn; nephews, Tyrone Lewis, III, Titus Lewis, and Tatum Modeste; aunts, Juanita Walker, Cheryl Jackson, Juanita Franklin, Robyn Walker, and Rosalind Farris; and a host of close cousins, friends, and family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Hightower; grandmothers, Ruby Franklin and Bertha Mae Hightower; two aunts, Earnestine Hightower and Alice Johnson.
Ruby enjoyed cooking. She cherished spending time with her granddaughter Jamila who was the light of her life, and she loved to have fun with her friends. Ruby never missed an opportunity to celebrate with others! Ruby will be forever loved and missed by her family.
