Mrs. Ruby “Marie” Williams Hodges, age 87 of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Hodges was born February 27, 1936, in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Richard Martin and Mary Jane Landreth Williams. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Surviving is her daughter, Debbie Hodges; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Ray Payne and Bobbie, Alan Hodges and Naomie, Eddie Hodges and Melissa; six grandchildren, Jessica Whitt Asbury and Mason, Cathy Hodges, Cody Hodges, Spencer Hodges, Angel Morrison, Billy Morrison; five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Cecil Hooker; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leonard Hodges, Sr.; a son, Charles Leonard Hodges, Jr.; a grandson, James Alan Hodges; four sisters, Lucy Williams Collins, Brenda Williams Phillips, Regina Williams Wilson, Peggy Williams Hooker; and two brothers, Terry Williams and Richard Wesley Williams. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 3:00PM at Moody Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Skyline Memory Gardens at a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is respectfully assisting the family.
