Ruby Nadine Jackson

Ruby Nadine Jackson passed away Saturday, October 2 at Boone Hospital. She was born July 26, 1918 to Thomas and Eva Apperson in Eldon. Most of her adult life was spent in Columbia. She worked for many years in retail at The Purple Shoppe, Park’s Department Store and was an owner of The Wholly Cow Creamery. She was a founding member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Murrel Jackson. She is survived by her three children, Roy Jackson, wife Kim of Leawood, Kansas, Judi Hourigan of Columbia and Linda Jackson, husband John DiBlasi of Wooldridge; five grandchildren, Shawn and Trevor Hourigan of Columbia, Ashley Brown, Anne Marie Jackson and Brandt Jackson of Kansas City; three step-grandchildren, Jessica and Corrie DiBlasi and Monica Kircher; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 5 at Memorial Funeral Home. Church service will be on Wednesday, October 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Church. Ruby was an outgoing friend to many and a loving mother and grandmother who will be forever missed.
