Ruby Geraldine Jernigan

Ruby Geraldine Jernigan, 63, of Elm City passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Pastor Brian Alphin will officiate.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 – 5:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Ruby was a remarkable lady who took care of her family with all the love she had, along with her chosen children as well. She had enough love left over for her dogs and other animals she cared for. Ruby was dearly loved and will be greatly missed with wonderful memories that will make you smile.

Ruby is survived by her loving husband, Michael Jernigan; sons, Allen Boswell, Timothy “Boo Boo” Boswell, and Justin Barnhill; daughters, Jessica Barnhill, Heather Jernigan (Jaylon Barnes) and Allison Jernigan (Patrick Gavin); and her grandchildren, Robert Barnhill, Emery Barnhill, Raylan Barnhill, Izick Boswell, and Justas Boswell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Jones.
