RUBY JEAN (COOK) KENNEDY, 68, of Abingdon, VA, formerly of Bradshaw, WV, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Ballad Health Hospice House in Bristol, TN. Born in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of Frankie Lee (Mullins) Cook of Bradshaw, WV, and the late Tommy Cook Sr. She was a longtime resident of Abingdon and was of the Christian faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker. Ruby also worked mobile concessions, cleaning homes and enjoyed BINGO.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Kennedy; Brother: Tommy Cook Jr..

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Frankie Lee (Mullins) Cook of Bradshaw, WV; Sons: Steven Kennedy of Abingdon, VA, Jason Kennedy of Abingdon, VA; Grandchildren: Lee (Christy) Kennedy, Kayla (Brandon) Norton, Lucas (Kristen) Kennedy, Savannah Kennedy and Sara Kennedy; Sisters: Linda (Larry) O'Quinn of Bradshaw, WV, Dorothy (Steve) Zamora of Ft. Worth, TX.

Also, survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews (including special niece: Stephanie Cook), and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held at the Jesus Church of Bartley Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Funeral Services for RUBY JEAN (COOK) KENNEDY will be conducted Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Jesus Church at Bartley with Chester Ball officiating with burial to follow on Kennedy Family Cemetery on Three Forks.

Active Pallbearers will be Lee Kennedy, Lucas Kennedy, Brandon Norton, Chase Taylor, Brutus O'Quinn and Thomas Cook.
