Ruby “Diane” Lawrence, 73, of Pearl, Mississippi, entered into the gates of heaven on her birthday, Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi.
Diane was born November 30, 1951, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Ralph E. Morgan and Bonnie Clinton Morgan. On May 12, 1984, she married the love of her life, Philipp Lawrence. She worked as a cosmetologist, running a shop of her own at Madonna Manor in Jackson. She was a member of New Life Assembly of God in Brandon, where she served as the pianist as well as a decorator.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hasty Morgan, Sr.; and sister, Sybil Morgan Vercher.
She leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Philipp Lawrence; children, Ben Whatley (Terra), Wayne Whatley (Ginger), and Sonya Collins (Chris); stepson, Steve Lawrence; brothers, Gerald Morgan (Emma) and Clay Morgan (Debbie); 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at New Life Assembly of God, 300 Shiloh Rd., Brandon, MS 39042, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 12:30 until 1:00 pm, with a celebration of life service beginning at 1:00 pm. Flowers may be sent directly to the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Women’s Ministry at New Life Assembly of God.
