Ruby LeBlanc

Ruby Richardson LeBlanc, a native of Sorrento, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on August 16, 2021, at the age of 89. She worked at a pants factory in Gonzales and later became a bus driver for Ascension Parish Schools. She loved driving her school bus and all the children who rode her school bus over the years. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, cooking, altering and sequinning dance costumes and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Junior" LeBlanc; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Richardson; brothers, J.C. and Clyde Richardson.

She is survived by her children, Connie Gautreau, Kim LeBlanc, Caryla Guitreau, Rae Lyne Melancon; grandchildren, Ryan Gautreau, Jessica Kibbe, Christen Bourgeois, Kacey LeBlanc, Karlie LeBlanc, Auston Guitreau, Joshua Guitreau, Nacale Methvien, Shelby Downs, Connor Melancon; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Edna Mae Guedry and Stanley "Dut" Richardson.

She was a member of the St. Anne Church and Ladies' Altar Society. The family would like to send a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice, nurse Brandi, nursing aide Susan, social worker Shannon, and sitter Angela for the love and care they gave our mother. A thank you is not nearly enough for the wonderful, thoughtful, patient, and caring sitter Roberta Robichaux who has the patience of a saint and took exceptional care of our mother.

Visitation will be at 10AM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM with burial at Hope Haven Cemetery. Visitors are asked to wear masks in church.

Pallbearers are Ryan Gautreau, Auston Guitreau, Joshua Guitreau, Kacey LeBlanc, Ethan Downs, and Jacob Kibbe. Honorary pallbearers are Connor Melancon and Grant Gautreau.
