Ruby Lee (Barnhart) Bolton passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
Ruby was born on June 2, 1939, in Sedan, New Mexico, to Frank William Barnhart and Verna Olive Barnhart. She spent her early years in Sedan and graduated from Clayton High School in 1957.
On December 10, 1966, Ruby married C. L. Hunt in Amarillo, Texas. They were married for 22 years and lived in the Shreveport, Louisiana area and eventually moved to Waskom, Texas shortly before his passing in 1989. Ten years later, Ruby married Willard H. (Bill) Bolton on August 28, 1999, in Marshall, Texas. Their union lasted 17 years until Bill’s death in 2016. In 2021, she moved to Amarillo, Texas to be closer to family.
Ruby was a devoted Christian who attended First Assembly of God of Waskom. Those closest to her knew how much she loved her poodle, Fanci, playing cards and dominoes, making crafts, and collecting many, many things. If it sparked joy, she kept it, and if it didn’t, she probably kept that, too.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Verna Barnhart; her first husband, C.L. Hunt; her second husband, Bill Bolton; brother, Marvin Barnhart; sisters, Bonnie Snell and Dorene Barnhart; brother-in-law, Tommie Snell; sister-in-law, Colleen Barnhart; and nephew, Terry Barnhart.
She is survived by her nephew, Charles Snell and his wife, Donna, of Amarillo; niece, Connie Crossland and her husband, Eddie, of Dumas; niece, Mary Ann Wilson, of Amarillo; niece, Tammy Podzemny and her husband, Jeff, of Ashland, Kansas; four great-nieces, three great-nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Providence Cemetery, 11708 Providence Rd., Spring Ridge, Louisiana.
