Ruby Gayle Lyons

Ruby Gayle Lyons, 85, of Yulee passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 20, 2026.
She was born in Crossett, AR and was the daughter of the late Derk and Ruby Roberts. She had lived in Yulee for over 50 years. She was a hair stylist by profession, working at Jackies Hair Care at the Amelia Island Plantation and retired after many years with the Making Waves Salon.
Always creative, she built fairy houses. Painting and sketching were among her many interests. She loved being outdoors where she loved working in her garden, fishing, scalloping and just about anything to do with the water.
Besides being outdoors, she enjoyed shopping and working crossword puzzles. She also was a huge fan of Harry Potter and Outlander. She was also devoted to her dog, Tinkerbell.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased her husband Thomas Lyons and a son, Paul Mathews.
She leaves behind her children, Teresa Miller, Gene Davis, Angela Fisher and Norman (Heather) Albertson, all of Yulee; a brother, George (Ming) Roberts of Jacksonville as well as 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
The family is planning a small gathering to remember and celebrate her life at their home at 86026 Callaway Court in Yulee on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 12:00 – 5:00 PM.
