Ruby Mae McDaniel, 81, of Phoenix, Arizona passed from this life into eternity on October 8th, 2025. Ruby was the wife to her late husband William Eugene Haynes Jr. for 20 years until his death. Ruby raised her family while working hard to make ends meet on the farm. She would often say "for the good of the family I will help be a farm hand." She would help set, pull plants, and strip tobacco in the hot summer fields of Kentucky. She would tend to the garden, pick the crops, and can numerous things to store up to feed her family in the harsh winters. She loved to cook and would make meals for not only her family but for the hired hands on the farm and take them four course meals to the fields. She was a very particular homemaker and always wanted to make sure she fed her family a nutritious and fresh meal. Ruby stated often that her greatest achievement in life was her children. She loved her children dearly and prayed for them daily. She built her home and raised her children in the beautiful farm fields of Kentucky. She eventually became employed at Osram Sylvania Lamp Plant in Versailles, KY where she retired after 20 years of service. After moving around a lot, she eventually settled into her home in Pheonix, AZ. Ruby loved the warm weather and beautiful cactus plants. Ruby built a bridge of love from the east coast to the west coast and proudly claimed both as home, enjoying the very best of God's masterpieces in the landscapes she watched Him paint.
Born May 31st, 1944 in Dayton, OH she was the daughter to the late Cecil Cray and Elma Moreland. She is survived by her children Tammie Haynes (Kevin) Lucas, Stanley Haynes, and Tony Haynes. Grandchildren Jared (Kathryn) Rue, Dustin (Tina) Rue, Courtney Rue, William Haynes IV, Valerie Haynes, and Wesley Haynes. Great Grandchildren JoLee Rue, Clark Rue, Ella Rue, and Penny Rue and sister Patricia Evans.
She was proceeded in death by her husband William Eugene Haynes Jr. (PeeWee). Her children Leonard (Len) Haynes, Robert (Robbie) Haynes, and William Haynes III. Sisters Edith Rimer and Judy Dewolf.
Ruby was a warrior exhibiting tremendous strength. She endured so much with so little complaint. She was self-less and compassionate and forgiving to a fault. She stands in our hearts as a reminder of strength, perseverance, love, and compassion. Though we deeply mourn her loss and will miss her dearly, we find comfort knowing we will be reunited in time at her new place of residence in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
Pallbearers will be Jared Rue, Dustin Rue, Courtney Rue, Kevin Lucas, Luke Brewer, and Geoff Magsam. Honorary Pallbearers will be all other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Kerr Brothers -Harrodsburg Road. followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort KY. Visitation is from 5-8 pm on Monday, October 20, 2025 and at 11:00 am on Tuesday October 21st, 2025 at the funeral home. Brother Jared Rue will be officiating.
