In Loving Memory of Ruby Ellen Meadows

October 3, 1927 - February 10, 2026

Ruby Ellen Morgan Meadows, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed into eternal glory on February 10, 2026, and is now with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. She was born on October 3, 1927, in Garrard County, Kentucky, and lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to others.

In 1950, Ruby married the love of her life, Julian Raymond Meadows, beginning a partnership that spanned 75 wonderful years, and he preceded her in death last May. Ruby is survived by her son David Meadows and wife Judi, her daughter Robin Battle and husband Chuck, and her daughter Suzanne Rushing and husband Ken. She leaves behind six grandsons and their wives and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

Ruby retired from the Simi Valley School District in 1986 and was an outstanding homemaker. She enjoyed the time spent traveling, crafting, cooking, sewing, and spending as much time with family as possible. Watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and flourish was a great joy to Ruby, and she delighted in every moment she shared with them.

Ruby also had a heart for service. She attended Grace Church of Simi Valley. She devoted countless hours volunteering at Adventist Health Hospital, Simi Valley Senior Center, and other organizations. Her kindness and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.

Ruby’s life was a testament to love, family, and service. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A private interment service will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery on Thursday, March 6th. Pallbearers are Michael Meadows, Brian Rushing, Ethan Battle, Nate Rushing, Jared Battle, and David Rushing.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Church of Simi Valley in the chapel on March 7th at 11 am.
