Ruby Elizabeth (Letterman) Morgan, 97, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at The Village at Holiday.
Ruby was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 15, 1928 to the late Edwin John Christopher and Esther Barbara Caroline (Schwiersch) Letterman. She was a graduate of Reitz High School. Ruby started her work career at Mesker Steel in accounts receivable for three years, then went on to work at Mutual Insurance Association of Southern Indiana for six years. Ruby was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Guild, Sunday School, and LifeLight Bible Study Group. She enjoyed cross stitching, traveling, bowling, gardening and bird watching.
Ruby is survived by her sons, James R. Morgan (Cathie) of Carmel, IN and Dennis D. Morgan (Zona) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Adam, Luke, Ellen and Meredith Morgan; and six great grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, James E. "Jim" Morgan; her parents; and siblings, Ruth Neiderhaus, Laura Wortman, Edna Fischer, Betty Wenderoth, Irma Bosley and Robert E. Letterman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Michigan St., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Chad Eckels and Pastor Case Farney officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the American Red Cross, 29 S. Stockwell Rd., Evansville, IN 47714.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Village at Holiday and Heritage Hospice for their compassionate care given to Ruby.
