It is with gentle hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Jean (Wooten) Moss, affectionately known by those who loved her as "Bobbi," who left us peacefully in her sleep on Easter morning, April 20, 2025, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by the love that she so freely gave to others, and now she has found her eternal peace.
Born on July 4, 1937, in Vest, Kentucky, to her devoted parents Ora (Dobson) Wooten and James Wooten, Bobbi lived a life filled with faith, love, and kindness. Her life was a testament to her unwavering Christian beliefs and her love for the Lord.
A wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, Bobbi's heart was as warm as her favorite cup of coffee and as sweet as her sweet tea that she made for us. Her hands, gentle and healing, brought comfort and care to those in need. Her heart, filled with love, embraced her family with unwavering devotion, earning her the endearing nickname "Grandma Sugar," a testament to her sweet spirit and nurturing soul.
Bobbi's love for reading was a source of joy and inspiration, whether reading her Bible, Bible study or fiction, she delighted in sharing stories and wisdom with her loved ones. Her life was centered around her family, and she took immense pride in her children-Corbett Rasnake, Larry (Christine) Rasnake, Lester Rasnake, Margaret (Jim) Stoken, and O.J. (Christy) Moss-and her beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Marc, Jimmy, Michael, Carrie, Danny, April, Jessica, Jakob, Sara, Haley, Alyssa, Stacy, Robbie, Rachel, Renee, Mattie, and Olaisa. She also cherished her stepchildren: Wilburn Paul (Laurie) Moss, Jane Moss, and David Moss, along with many great and great-great-grandchildren who brought her joy.
Her legacy endures through her brothers, Buddy and Estille, her sisters Clova, Lula, Shirley, and Bessie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Will Moss, her beloved son Lester Rasnake, her granddaughter Victoria, and her siblings Stella, David, John, Nancy, and Charles and nephews Carlos and Clifton-those she missed dearly and now reunites with in eternal peace.
Though her departure leaves a void, her spirit remains alive in the hearts of all who loved her. The circle is unbroken, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. She now rests with her Heavenly Father and her beloved family in heaven, reunited with her parents, husband, son, and siblings.
In celebrating her life, we honor her devotion, her love, and her faith. May her soul find eternal peace and may her legacy of love continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will be missed but never forgotten.
In accordance with her wishes, Bobbi has been cremated. A graveside service will be held on May 17th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Messer Cemetery, located at 223 124th Ave., Shelbyville, MI 49344, Pastor Matt Noble will be officiating.
