In the 1970s, I arranged an independent study in English and creative writing with Mrs. Norris at the Richmond Humanities Center. Her rigorous instruction, always gently delivered, launched me in my career as a writer. Her legacy continues in all her students. My condolences to her family on the loss of such a positive educator and mentor.

Mrs Norris was a great lady. I have only know her for a few years, but I can say if I live to be as old as her my wish would to be as alert as her. She has touched so many lives and will be missed by all of them.

Dear Vernon and Family,
We members of the George Wythe Class of 1961 were saddened to hear of Mrs. Norris' passing. We know our beloved teacher is discussing books with God now. We loved her letter which was read to us at our 50th reunion dinner. May God bless her and her family.

Dear Vernon and Family,
Today I just found out the passing of Ms. Ruby and Matthew. No one can experience this sadness as you do. If you need some comfort and some help to see you through, please know how much you're cared for by all those who think of you. "In the hardest things we do... Love sees us through." May God be with you. With Deepest Sympathy and Understanding.

Dear Family,
We were saddened to hear of Mrs. Norris' death. We had heard she was ill but figured she would recoup quickly being the strong willed and wonderful person she was to all that knew her. I had the honor of having her as my Englist teacher at GWHS and being in the first graduating class. We were all very disappointed when we heard she would be unable to attend our recent class reunion but understood she had a family obligation, which should come first. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you as we too are experiencing the death of my 100+ yr. old mother-in-law. We will be unable to attend the Mrs. Norris' service as we are in MS for the burial service of Martha's mom. We hope knowing others care will bring you comfort in the coming days. Yours in Christian love,

Dear Vernon and Carol, Please except our heartfelt sympathy at this difficult time. Your mother was a very special woman who left us all with a sample of her love for life and for Middlesex County.

I consider it an honor to have known Ruby Lee for many years. I will cherish her memory. She lived her life to the fullest and was a very positive influence in my life and I'm sure in others' lives. I already miss her. My condolences to the family.

Ruby Norris was a great lady, fun loving and an inspiration to us all. She made us all laugh and joined in the festivities, no matter what they were or what they led to with so much laughter and tongue in cheek responses. I am sure you will be at peace but if there is work to do, I am sure you will help up there in any way you can.
