Caroline Rose Johnson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away February 25, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. She was born April 11, 1933, in Williamsburg, Indiana, the daughter of Harrison and Ethel Smith Byrd. She married Marlin on November 25, 1951, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She worked as a IBM Librarian for Boeing Airplane Company for 16 years. Rose helped Marlin on the dairy farm. She lived in Mountain Home since moving from Wichita, Kansas in 1969. She was a founding member of the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and watching the blue birds.
Rose is survived by her husband, Marlin Johnson; daughter, Sondra (Ben) McFarland and grandson, Harrison McFarland all of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom and Robert Byrd and sister, Pearl Miller.
Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2026, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at Harmony Freewill Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm with Keith and Shannon Byrd officiating. Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery, Norfork, Arkansas. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Hutchens, Zach Hutchens, Thayne Edwards, Tom Gibson, Rodney Buck, and Billy Warner.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Rose's memory.
