Ruby Payne

Ruby Payne, age 88, of Columbiana, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025.

Ruby was born on May 22, 1937, in Oneonta, Alabama, to Edra Cuzzort and Jim Cuzzort. She made Columbiana her home for over 56 years, where she lived for many years surrounded by family, faith, and cherished memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edra and Jim Cuzzort, and by her husband, Calbert Payne.

Ruby is survived by her sister; Ann Latner, brother; Lynn Cuzzort, daughter; Liz Masoner, son; Jim Payne, and her treasured grandchildren; Samantha, Hannah, and Melody, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in her life.

Ruby had a deep love for genealogy and devoted countless hours to researching family histories, preserving stories and connections for future generations. She also found joy in sewing and lovingly made clothes for children's dolls, a talent that reflected her caring nature.

A woman of faith, Ruby trusted in the Lord throughout her life and found comfort in His promises. Her family takes peace in knowing she is now at rest and reunited with loved ones who went before her.

Ruby will be remembered for her quiet strength, her dedication to family, and the legacy of love she leaves behind.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bolton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bolton Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Pinelawn Gardens.
