Ruby Joyce Pearson Bageant

Ruby Joyce (Pearson) Bageant, 63, of Harpers Ferry passed away on Wednesday, March 30 at Berkeley Medical Center. She left this earth surrounded by love from her family, both those by her side and those at home. Born on December 29, 1958, she was the daughter of James Carl and Clara Jean (Stanley) Pearson.
Ruby was a sweet and feisty woman who loved spending time with her family, crafting, gardening and taking small trips. And though she loved fishing, she would not touch a worm or a fish. A warm and loving woman, she always welcomed children into her home and made sure they were both taken care of and behaving themselves.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 45 years, Randy Bageant, her daughters Robin Bageant (Louis Beatrice), Rebecca Bageant (Dale Johnston), and her grandson David Armstrong, Jr. She is also survived by her mother, Clara Jean (Stanley) Pearson, her sisters Barbara Jenkins (Greg Sr.), Janet Shifflett, and Brenda Caprio (Mike) and her brothers-in-law, Richard Bageant, Jerry Bageant (Carolyn) and Stacey Bageant (Debbie).
Ruby was preceded in death by her granddaughter Casey Armstrong, her father James Carl Pearson, her brothers James and William Pearson and brothers-in-law, Thomas Bageant and Robert Shifflett.
Those that knew Ruby know that she would ask, well, she would tell you to not send flowers. Instead, plant a few in her memory.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Ranson.
