Ruby Lee Pearson Lyon, MS
Ruby Lee Bailey Pearson, 88, a life-long homemaker, died January 27, 2025, at Ottawa County Hospital in Minneapolis, Kansas. She was born on July 9, 1936, in Alligator, Mississippi, to Rena and Dave Bailey. She attended school in Friars Point, MS, until she married John Pearson in 1953. She was Baptized in 1961 at Lyon Baptist Church.
Remembered for her love of cooking, Ruby Lee – affectionately known as "Granny" once the first grandchild arrived in 1979 – also loved the music of Tom Jones, dancing to Elvis in her younger years and always taking care of others.
Graveside services will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lyon, MS. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include her sons Paul Pearson (Jen Waller) of Lyon, MS; John Lytle Pearson of Houston, TX; daughter Sandy Henson (Joey Henson) of Colorado Springs, CO; and Barney Pearson of Milwaukee, WI. She had nine grandchildren – Mary Beth Pearson Kline, Michael Wills, Landon Henson, Brian Wills, John Simpson, Alex Weiss Williams, Malory Henson Gage, Christy Pearson, and Jake Pearson. She also had fourteen great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Pearson; her daughter Susan Pearson Weiss; her parents Dave and Rena Vowell Bailey; and all seven of her siblings: Lena Pearl Bailey Ray, James C. Bailey, David J. Bailey, Edna Bailey Haire, Etta Jean Bailey Province, Floyd W. Bailey, and Erwin L. Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to CARES/Clarksdale Animal Shelter.

My daughter Elizabeth stayed at Miss Laura´s Bailey´s nursery when she was 4. Ruby was Miss Laura´s sister.
Elizabeth adored Ruby. She called her Aunt Ruby. She was a really sweet lady.
