Ruby Phillips

Ruby Alene Morgan Phillips passed away June 28, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on a cold winter day February 20, 1936, in Tooele, Utah, and was raised in Ophir. She was the youngest of 10 children born to George and Pheba Morgan.
She lived in Ophir, New Mexico, and Tooele. She married Keith Edward (Bud) Rollie, they had four children. Bud died in 1968. She married Luke Phillips in 1970, he passed November 5, 2013. Ruby and Luke were able to travel in their motor home after they retired, including several trips to Luke's home in Canada. They enjoyed that very much. They spent most of their weekends in Ophir and their winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pheba; both of her husbands, Bud and Luke; grandson, Cody Rollie; brothers and sisters, Wallace, Jay, Loren, Glen, Eva, Dean, Denzel, Deonna, her brother Sydney who died in infancy; and her baby boy, Loren Kent. Kent was born on January 2, 1961, and died February 7, 1961. That nearly broke Ruby's heart.
She is survived by her children Utahna (Danny) Perkins, Keith (Jan) Rollie, Doyle (Patti) Rollie; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Ruby was most proud of her family. They were the most important people in her life. Anytime you mentioned one of her kids she would light up. She was so very proud of them and the good people they are today.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 10:00-10:45 a.m., at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main Street, Tooele, Utah. A graveside will follow at 11 a.m., at Tooele City Cemetery, 361 South 100 East, Tooele, Utah.
Ruby's family would like to thank the hospice nurses and staff at Diamond Jane's Assisted Living; they were all so kind to Ruby and her family.
