Ruby Nell Pittman

Ruby Nell May Pittman – who was born on November 11, 1938, in Marion County, Mississippi – passed peacefully into eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, February 23, 2026.

Ruby, age 87, was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie and Tera May; her beloved husband, Louie Wayne Pittman; and her children, Gary Pittman, Paul Pittman, Margaret Pittman, and Bonnie Addington.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters – Patsy Carr (Sammy) of Westmoreland, and Lois Dyess (Ricky) of Carson, Mississippi.

Ruby was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Ruby was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord and lived her life in devotion to Him. She found great joy in sharing her faith with her family and community. For decades, she faithfully led an annual Christmas Eve production of the Christmas story with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, reminding all who gathered of the true meaning of Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ. This cherished tradition will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to take part.

She also had a love for simple pleasures - especially garage sales and antiquing - always enjoying the hunt for special treasures and the stories behind them.

Ruby was a wonderful cook and was especially known for her delicious chicken and dumplings, lovingly prepared and shared with family and friends through the years.

Ruby will be remembered for her strength, warmth, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family.

Services will be officiated by her son-in-law, Sammy Carr. Ruby's final resting place will be at Fairfield Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held for her family.

Pallbearers are Scott Hinton, Brandt Wood, Kirk Davis, Camden Rigsby, Henny Hinton and Taylor Deakins.

Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons – Tyler Carr, Justin Ballew, Chandler Crowley and Daven Blackmon.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of faith, family and love will continue through the many generations she so dearly treasured.
